The purpose of the Marcus Historical Society shall be to preserve for public benefit, education & enjoyment, the historical heritage of our community.
The Reed Center
The Reed Center of the
Marcus Historical Society is located
at 208 W Cedar St.Marcus, Iowa
Built in 1904, the structure was
originally the home of Nazareth
Lutheran Church; a danish congregation.
Most recently the building was used for
Sunday school classes by Faith
Lutheran Church. The Marcus Historical
Society purchased the property from
Faith Lutheran in March 2007.
Marcus Historical Society is a non-profit public charitable organization 501(c)3

Funding for the purchase and renovation of the Reed Center was provided by Robert and Maxine Reed in memory of his parents Carl A. and Hazel A Reed.
